Boarshurst Silver Band is celebrating its best-ever result at the North West Regional Championships, finishing 8th in the fiercely contested Championship Section. This incredible achievement marks a historic moment for the band and reflects months of dedication and hard work from the players and the conductor, Jamie Prophet.
Competing against some of the finest brass bands in the region, Boarshurst took to the stage at Blackpool’s Winter Gardens to perform Diversions, this year’s set test piece. Under the direction of Jamie Prophet, the band delivered a confident and well-prepared performance, demonstrating technical precision, musicality, and a real sense of character.
The atmosphere on the day was confident, with strong performances across the board, making for an exciting and highly competitive contest. Achieving 8th place among such high-calibre bands is a testament to the dedication of every player and the leadership of Jamie Prophet, whose guidance has played a key role in the band’s recent progress.
